The Kongsberg Maritime team are experts in delivering high-end propulsion solutions for the maritime sector. As Technical Support Engineer at Kongsberg, you become part of the Global Customer Support Division which is responsible for Kongsberg Maritime services, upgrades and support in the aftermarket specifically for waterjet products. To provide our customers with a solid and confident experience throughout the whole product life cycle, we are also focused on delivering top class customer support in the global aftermarket. In your role as Technical Support Engineer no two days are the same. In your daily work, you will provide technical support and assistance to customers and colleagues all around the world. The issues we are faced with often take place in real time, where you may, for example, assist by providing live technical guidance directly to customers and colleagues in the field, operating vessels experiencing operational disruptions. The issues often concern questions of mechanical and hydraulic nature, or even regarding electronic control systems. In your role you may also conduct investigations of various technical matters to improve both products and support processes. For this position, traveling occurs every now and then. The destinations can be almost anywhere in the world, so we hope you find this exciting.
We think you should have
To succeed in this role, we believe you have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or previous experience working in technical support or technical product development dealing with mechanics and hydraulics. Maritime industry and propulsion product experience is highly advantageous in these positions. Given regular communication with both international customers and colleagues is a big part of this role, a high level of both oral and written English is necessary.
To excel in this role, you have a collaborative attitude and strong communication skills. You are well organized and like to work in a systematic way, prioritizing activities and allocating your resources effectively. You enjoy utilizing your professional specialist knowledge to analyze complex issues, deliver smart and feasible solutions and find it natural to share your experience and knowledge with others.

We are pleased to announce that the Propeller Systems business is seeking two Project Quality Engineers to strengthen our organization. In this role you will collaborate with Project managers to assure that our delivery projects meet our customers and our own expected quality objectives. We are searching for motivated individuals with a passion for quality, project management and with a proactive mindset to support our most complex deliveries.
As a Project Quality Engineer, you will have an operational role with the responsibility to document, plan and initiate necessary quality assurance, quality control and quality inspections. This to ensure traceability to achieve product and deliveries compliance to meet expected quality objectives and expectations. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the project's quality plan within the project organization. You will also support the project with risk assessments, lessons learned activities and non-conformity investigations.
In this role, you will work in close collaboration with several teams and departments, such as the Project organization, Engineering to Order, Supplier Quality, Operations and Sales. In complex projects, you will be the interface with our customers quality function assuring quality compliance against contracts.
Qualifications and experience
To best fulfill our needs and to make this a perfect fit, we believe that you have experience from previous roles within quality assurance. Expertise in general quality assurance based on ISO 9001 is essential, and knowledge in NATO or defense standards such as AQAP, MIL or similar is meritorious. We highly appreciate experience from project management, also a technical background and interest.
Focus for this role is to have the right personal skills to quality-assure our delivery projects. To be successful as a Project Quality Engineer we appreciate your ability to communicate in a clear and structured way. You will work in an international environment, therefor a high level of English is crucial. The ability to make an impact, to build relations and to act on own initiative is also fundamental to succeed in this role.
