FACTS technology enables power systems owners to increase the capacity of their existing power systems while improving electrical stability at the same time. The result is more electrical power can reach consumers with minimal environment impact after shorter project times and at lower investment costs. This pioneering technology is developed at the Power Quality unit in Västerås and sold to customers worldwide.
Service Control Engineering, a team of 10 engineers, works with various tasks related to maintaining the entire control system for our customer world-wide. We take care of our installed base all around the world serving customers with a reliable system. Currently we are looking for a SOM and Network System Project Engineer focus on HMI, MicroScada and Network architecture, at our GCoC Service department.

How you'll make an impact
Work in challenging service and upgrade projects, delivering high-quality and cost-effective engineering solutions to meet customer requirements and expectations related to Station Operation and Monitoring layer which includes HMI, MicroScada, network communication and Sequence of event management among others.
Deliver solutions that meet customer expectations in terms of quality, budget, and timelines.
Focusing on areas including fault tracing and correction, design and implementation to verification and commissioning of various contents of control system deliveries to fully meet customers' requirements as well as our internal standards such as IEC61850.
Each project and task have specific requirements regarding functionality and to achieve this, you will need to have frequent contact with other engineering groups, project managers and local Hitachi Energy's offices.

Your background
Hold an M.Sc. in Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems, Control System, automatic control theory, software engineering, electrical engineering or similar.
Some years of experience from similar engineering positions working with deliveries of industrial systems, process control systems or substation automation.
Experience of IEC61850, SCADA (i.e., Micro Scada) and HMI (i.e., InTouch) solutions within the power systems domain as well as databases (i.e., MS SQL server) is an advantage.
Experience with MACH™/HiDraw development is a plus.

The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Manager for one of our Valve Electrical Design teams at HVDC in Sweden. This team is responsible for the detailed electrical design of converter valves for HVDC and SVC applications. The Global Valve Electrical Design team currently comprises around 60 employees across four teams in three countries, with two teams based in Sweden and one each in India and China.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in leading and driving your team as part of our strategic transformation program. This initiative aims to enhance our systematic quality approach, boost productivity, and facilitate further expansion by adding more team members.
You will be a member of the Valves management team and report to the Head of the Valve Electrical Design team. We are looking for a communicative and experienced leader with a background in a similar position. You should be driven, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning, always open to acquiring new knowledge.
Most of the Swedish team is located in Ludvika, which is our preferred hiring location. However, Västerås is also an option, as there is an HVDC office there. In the initial phase of this role, you will spend time in the Ludvika office to familiarize yourself with the team. Long-term, there will be opportunities to work remotely a few days per week.

Due to strong growth driven by increasing global energy demand, we are now expanding our electrical design and automation team in Landskrona. We are looking for an Electrical Designer who wants to work close to technology, production, and projects in a hands‑on engineering role.
In this position, you will design electrical solutions for cooling systems, ranging from automation cabinets and motor control centers to junction boxes and supporting systems. You will work in close collaboration with project engineers, production, suppliers, and service teams, contributing across project execution, R&D activities, and after‑sales support. As our production is based in Landskrona, the role is primarily on‑site, with some flexibility for remote work.
How you’ll make an impact
Design electrical solutions in accordance with customer specifications, internal standards, and applicable regulations.
Develop electrical designs for automation cabinets, control panels, MCCs, and junction boxes for cooling systems.
Select components and solutions for low‑voltage systems (typical voltages: 208/400/480/690 VAC and 24–220 VDC).
Create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, functional descriptions, work instructions, and quality records.
Create and manage articles and Bills of Material (BOM) in SAP.
Support testing activities, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and supplier evaluations.
Provide technical support during commissioning (SAT) and contribute to after‑sales troubleshooting and improvements.
Your background
Post‑secondary technical education in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Several years of experience in electrical design within machine manufacturing, process industry, water treatment, or similar project‑based environments.
Proven experience delivering electrical designs from concept through production, testing, and commissioning.
Strong proficiency in electrical CAD tools such as Elprocad or similar systems.
Good understanding of low‑voltage systems, redundancy concepts, and industrial electrical design principles.
Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC 61439 and IEC 61000‑6‑2 / IEC 61000‑6‑4.
A structured, communicative, and collaborative working style, with the ability to take responsibility for your own learning.
Fluency in technical English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
Meriting experience
Experience with PLC programming or automation systems.
Knowledge of UL/CSA standards and design according to these.
Understanding of the Machinery Directive and CE‑related regulations.

Take technical ownership of electrical and automation scope in assigned projects, ensuring delivery according to time, budget, and quality requirements.
Verify that the electrical design is in accordance with customer specifications, including component selection and solution review.
Design automation cabinets, low‑voltage motor control centres (MCC), and junction boxes (typical voltages: 208/400/480/690 VAC and 24–220 VDC).
Create and work according to quality documentation such as process maps, work instructions, functional descriptions, and guidelines.
Prepare technical specifications for suppliers and manage articles and Bills of Material (BOM) in SAP.
Support factory testing, FAT, supplier evaluations, and commissioning activities (SAT), including occasional travel.
Provide after‑sales technical support through troubleshooting and solution development when needed.
Your background
Solid experience in electrical design and automation within relevant industries such as machine manufacturing, process industry, or water and treatment plants.
Post‑secondary technical education or equivalent professional experience as an electrical designer, project engineer, lead engineer, or similar role.
Proven ability to independently design automation cabinets and motor control systems or other low voltage cabinets using Elprocad or similar electrical CAD tools.
Experience working with redundant and high‑availability solutions (e.g. S2, R1, R2 concepts).
Good knowledge of applicable standards and regulations such as the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), IEC 61439, IEC 61000‑6‑2 / IEC 61000‑6‑4, and CE certification.
Strong proficiency in technical English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
A structured, communicative, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to take responsibility and lead technical work within projects.
