What you’ll do: Own the shipping rhythm of your squad, ensuring frequent, meaningful customer-facing releases while balancing speed and engineering quality. Drive tight collaboration between Product and Engineering, translating customer problems into well-sliced deliverables and reducing time to value. Raise the bar on performance by setting clear expectations, coaching engineers, proactively addressing underperformance, and ensuring the right team is in place. Embed a culture of urgency and customer impact, framing discussions around releases, outcomes and time to ship rather than task completion. Leverage AI and modern tooling to increase velocity, improve decision-making and continuously strengthen the team’s engineering craft. What we’re looking for: Proven experience leading Software Engineers, including hiring, coaching, managing performance and building high-performing teams. Experience as a Software Engineer, with the technical depth to challenge architecture, design decisions and engineering trade-offs. A strong sense of urgency and ownership, with clear examples of increasing shipping pace and delivery effectiveness. A pragmatic and collaborative leader who thrives in close partnership with Product and drives clarity in ambiguous situations. A curiosity for AI and a drive to experiment with new tools to enhance creativity, decisions, and execution. We are reshaping how educational content is created with an AI-first mindset. As an AI Workflow Engineer, you will build and refine the systems that drive our AI powered content production, from prompt flows to full pipelines that generate high quality textbooks, assessments and learning experiences. For this opportunity, experience as a workflow or prompt engineer is not required, though it is desirable. What matters most is exceptional logical thinking, facility with understanding/solving technical problems, and the ability to express your thinking clearly. What you’ll do: Design, test, and refine multi-step AI workflows and prompt chains that produce structured, high-quality educational content at scale. Translate pedagogical and editorial requirements into automated, metadata-driven processes that ensure consistent quality and alignment. Develop reusable prompt templates, modular frameworks and content generation systems for lessons, quizzes, slides and other formats. Debug, optimise and document AI workflows, prompts and datasets to improve reliability, speed, traceability and long-term reuse. Experiment with and evaluate new AI models, tools and APIs and integrate suitable technologies into content production and validation pipelines to improve quality, speed and cost efficiency. Collaborate with engineers, designers, curriculum specialists and product teams to prototype new AI-driven approaches and internal tooling that enhance both content creation and user-facing features. What we’re looking for: A strong academic background in a technical or analytical field, such as Philosophy, computational linguistics, natural language processing, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline. Exceptional logical thinking skills that can be applied to the design and refinement of multi-step prompt chains and AI workflows. Curiosity about how language models behave and a willingness to explore new methods to improve outcomes. A methodical approach to debugging complex technical issues and an eagerness to learn unfamiliar systems quickly. An analytical mindset that focuses on measurable improvement and communicates insights clearly to diverse teams. The ability to collaborate effectively to iterate on workflows and improve AI-driven systems.
